Terms of use
Last updated 2026-08-15. Deliberately short.
1. What this is
EcoFinLearn is a free educational website run by an individual lecturer. Using it means you accept these terms. If you do not, please do not use it.
2. Educational content, not advice
Everything here (lessons, glossary definitions, worked examples, interactive charts, the careers guide and its pay bands, notes) is provided for education and general information. It is not financial, investment, tax, legal, immigration or career advice, and it is not tailored to you. Salary bands are wide, rounded orientations that change over time. Verify anything you rely on and take professional advice for real decisions.
3. Accuracy and "as is"
Content is written and checked with care and lessons are machine-verified, but errors happen and the site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content. If you spot an error, please report it: sitrakaforler@gmail.com.
4. Your code and your account
Code runs in your own browser. You are responsible for what you write and run. If you sign in, keep your Google or GitHub account secure and choose a dashboard name that is not offensive or impersonating someone else; names may be removed from the public leaderboard at our discretion. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, scrape it at scale, or misuse the community features.
5. Certificates
Track certificates record that you completed the exercises on this site. They are not academic credit, are not issued by or on behalf of Durham University, and carry only the meaning an employer chooses to give them. Any verified certificate offered for a fee will state clearly what it does and does not certify before you pay.
6. Intellectual property
The lesson text, glossary, notes and careers guide are © Sitraka Forler. You may use them for personal study and share links freely. Teachers may use them with a class with a link back; please email for anything beyond that. Code snippets in lessons may be reused freely. Third-party trademarks belong to their owners.
7. Privacy
How data is handled is set out in the privacy note, which forms part of these terms.
8. Changes and law
These terms may be updated; the date above will change. They are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Contact: sitrakaforler@gmail.com.
